Tony Baker is an entrepreneur and international business advisor, specializing in helping small and medium-sized businesses to grow in the international market place.

Tony's career has included management and consulting in the aerospace, electronics, IT, manufacturing, distribution and retail industries.

Tony’s first job was as a flight observer at The Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough, England.  During his time in the aerospace industry, he worked on the design, testing and marketing of airborne navigation equipment.  Later, he moved into the application of computers to aircraft design, flight test and manufacturing and, later, into applications for other manufacturing and service industries.

Tony first qualified in Electronics, and later in Computing Science (Imperial College, London).  While still in England he took a diploma course in Economics and Financial Management.  After moving to Canada,  he took courses in management and marketing and passed all examinations of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants.  He subsequently became a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP).

Tony moved from England to Canada in 1976. In 1991, he established maww international: business growth and export specialists (originally Market Access Worldwide). In recent years, Tony has helped a large number of Canadian companies to grow their businesses, and to export or establish businesses in the United States, the EU, and in many other countries around the world. Tony works with colleagues and associates in North America and overseas to provide comprehensive services to clients.

Tony has worked as a consultant for the Business Development Bank of Canada, where he has consulted with many customers of the Bank, specializing in coaching and mentoring, company growth, and international projects.  He also worked as an in-house consultant for the bank on a part-time basis in 2006-07.

Tony has taught seminars on Management, Sales and Business Process Reorganization as well as International Trade Research, International Marketing, Logistics, Distribution and Trade Management for Centennial College, the Schulich School of Business, York University, and for the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT).

Tony has served as Chair of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Toronto and as a director of the British Canadian Chamber of Trade and Commerce.
